Select the head then open the paint weights tool. Toggle hold so that the weights are “held” for every joint except the SkullJT. Next add the curve as an influence object. First select the skin (the head) the select the influence object you are adding (the eyebrow curve), then select skin>edit smooth skin> add influence object with the following options: check the lock weights and set the weighting to 0. Then using the paint weights tool un-toggle the hold on the curve and paint the area of influence of the curve.

Painted influence for eyebrow curve.

If you move the curve the eyebrow region of the mesh should deform. Next we make the deformations a little more controllable by creating clusters out of the curve CV’s. I made three clusters out of the CV’s to deform the inside, middle, and outside of the eyebrow. I used the component editor to change the weights of the curve points of the cluster. I created the first cluster out of the first 4 CV’s. The middle cluster out of the CV’s 2-5, and the last cluster out of the end 4 CV’s.

I might tweak these weights later, the important thing is set up the curve as a deformer. I can make the eyebrow do just about anything with these three clusters. We’ll do the same thing for eyelid. Make a curve starting at the lower, inside corner of the eye that goes around the entire eye opening. Use the duplicate the head and make it live trick to make this easier. Group the curve to itself and parent this group to the SkullJT.

Add this curve as an influence object and open the paint weight tool. When you go to paint the weight values for this curve, make sure all the other weights are locked except for the SkullJT.

I just made on cluster out of all the CV’s of the eyelid curve. I’ll make more when I set up the face controls but I need to fit the eye’s in to make sure I get the proper shape. We can add clusters later now that we have the influence object in place.
